European Finals Santa Pod 2008

This was certainly not the weekend we agined for ending our drag racing season.
We spend 3 days waiting for the rain to stop. The track crew didn't stop working trying to get the track race ready. Once they managed to get it dry, the rain came down again.

Finally on Sunday afternoon everything was ready to start racing. The race director decided that there would be just one qualifying run and then straight into the eliminations. Our first run went pretty good and with a time of 5,975 we ended up as the number 2 qualifier.

In the first elimination round we were paired up against Ulf Leanders. Both cars had difficulties to get the power down the track, but Danny finished first with a 6,354 and only 0.09sec difference.

In the semi-final we met Jarmo Kuutniemi, who's car had some problems when trying to start, so Danny on a bye run. He certainly didn't want to take it easy, with a new personal best he finished in 5.851 sec.

Knowing that we only had 45 psi blower pressure is certainly promising for the next season, since we have solved the blower pressure problem and considering the mild setup we must be able to get into the 5.7 sec. After the semi-final it started raining again. The race director called the event to an end. Our first final and we were not able to run it.
We would like to congratulate Ulf Leanders and his team with winning the European Championship this year.

Despite the rain, it was a really fantastic end of the season for us. Second qualifier, first ever final and a new Personal Best. And all this without any damage to the engine. We almost can't wait to be back at the track next year.
