Nitrolympx Hockenheim

After 2 months we're back on the track for the 4th round of the FIA European Championship. at Hockenheim. It's the closest track for us and we were looking forward to an exciting weekend of racing.

Friday morning started with some showers, so the qualifying sessions were delayed till 13:00. In the first run Danny had difficulties to hold the car in stage and left before the tree was activated. So no time for him, but it looked like a very nice run.

Luckely we got another qualifying round on Friday. Great launch for Danny, wheels high up, very aggressive from the line, but suddenly before 60ft the car put the front wheels hard on the track and idled to the finishline. Afterwards it turned out to be a broken throttle cable.

Friday didn't gave us the results we hoped for. So we had an another go on day two of qualifying. 

In the 3th qualifying session Danny but came close to the guardrail at the top end. Still a great run in 5.860 sec and with a speed of 387 km/h. That moved us in second qualifying spot. In the last session Danny hit shake at about 300 feet and got of the throttle. We ended up as second qualifyer and had to meet Jürgen Nagel in the first elimination round on Sunday. Nice launch for Danny, in a straight line to the finish and a win for him with a 5.91 to a 6.43 for Jürgen.

Up to the next round, which was a bye as both Jarmo Kuutniemi and Dezsoe Krivan were disqualified. Just as we were ready, it started raining heavely. But they managed to dry the track and around 5 o'clock we were called for the second elimination round. A bye run with a time of 5.93 sec. and a speed of 392 km/h. That put us in the final against Arvid GrØdem. But unfortunately the race was ended due to the curfew at 18:00. It's a pity, but at least the car is running fast again.
